16-K gear wheel for counters VDO speedometer instrument cluster disk gear wheel
Description: This 2-component transmission is a frequent source of error on VDO odometers in a wide range of vehicles. The affected VDO drives are installed worldwide in many models of many European, Japanese, American or Australian brands.
The drive consists of 2 gears: 1. a standard gear wheel in the variants E15, E20, E25 (15, 20 or 25 teeth) 2. a disk gear which varies the number of teeth AND disk size.
The disk gear is available in the following 8 variants:

Notes: We have a variety of speedometer gears for VDO, Motometer and other speedometers and instruments in our range. Unfortunately, the exact combination (vehicle model to gear wheel variant) cannot be determined for every model, but we have separate offers in the store for the known and most common combinations. Buying a used speedometer may save on repairs, but there is a risk that the gear will break in the near future. In particular, storage times and cold temperatures cause additional damage to the gears. If you have disassembled the speedometer, we also recommend replacing the bulbs. These lose their performance noticeably over the years. They are available from every car dealership and accessories store.
Advantages: Our gears are injection-molded from high-quality thermoplastic material: This enables very good dimensional accuracy and an involute shape of the teeth, which are particularly gentle on the partner gear.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grip the speedometer needle in the center and turn it counterclockwise. Pull gently. Friction is all that keeps the needle on the shaft.
