Speedometer gear for SAAB 900 9000 99 '75-'85 instrument cluster repair
Several variants, please read carefully!
Description: In the odometers of mechanical speedometers, this gear often breaks radially with a fine hairline crack. It then no longer sits firmly on the shaft and moves to the side. Sometimes this crack is barely noticeable, so just test whether the gear can be twisted/moved on the shaft.
A notice: We also recommend replacing the roller wheel on the same shaft if you have dismantled and opened the speedometer anyway. Both gears are the typical weak points. If the wheel can turn on the shaft, it is already damaged. There are 3 different thickness versions (1.3mm; 2.2mm; 3.0mm). Simply measure the tooth width of the gear and order the right one from the shop. Keyword: “roller gear”
Important: Please count the number of teeth before purchasing. Unfortunately, no information can be given about the number of teeth in all models. We have all gear variants in our range.
Service: We have over 100 gear variants in our range and can supply the right gears if required!
+ all alternative sizes always in stock + fast exchange service in the event of a size discrepancy
Quality: Our gears are elaborately and faithfully manufactured using injection molding and are not self-made 3D printed products. We work with a manufacturer that specializes in the production of plastic gears and is the global market leader with its repair solutions. The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the pairs of gears. The material we use is the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grip the center of the speedometer needle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything that keeps the needle on the shaft.
