Speedometer gear for TRIUMPH Spitfire Vitesse GT6 Herald odometer repair Attention, there... more
Speedometer gear for TRIUMPH Spitfire Vitesse GT6 Herald odometer repair
Attention, there are several gear variants, please read the description carefully!
Description:
If the odometer or operating hours counter on your vehicle has failed, then this drive gear in the instrument is usually the cause. Unsuitable materials cause the original gears to disintegrate or crack radially. With the help of this offer, every hobby screwdriver can easily repair their instrument themselves and saves themselves costly contract repairs, waiting times and shipping costs for the entire instrument.
The gear is for Smiths odometers and has a tooth count of 20.
Gear sets:
Some counter drives contain more than one vulnerable gear. Here we strongly recommend that you change all critical pinions in order to avoid double assembly effort: the neighboring gear often fails immediately after the first gear has been replaced. Simply look for the right set in our shop and enter your vehicle as a search term + "gear" (e.g. "Mercedes SL gear").
A notice:
The number of teeth in the instrument drives also varies within a model depending on the engine and gearbox type as well as the differential ratio and country code. Thanks to our many years of experience, we can usually send you the correct tooth configuration directly with the above information.
You can also provide us with vehicle information in the comments field when purchasing or, ideally, disassemble your instrument in advance and count the number of teeth.
Service:
We have over 100 gear variants in our range and can supply the right gears if required!
+ all alternative sizes always in stock
+ fast exchange service in the event of a size discrepancy
For the repair, we will send you illustrated repair instructions (German/English) by email.
Quality:
Our gears are elaborately and faithfully manufactured using injection molding and are not self-made 3D printed products. We work with a manufacturer that specializes in the production of plastic gears and is the global market leader with its repair solutions.
The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the pairs of gears.
The material we use is the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grip the center of the speedometer needle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything that keeps the needle on the shaft.
