Description: Over time, the inside of the oil pump in your Porsche ages or wears out. If there is a defect in the engine oil pump, the oil pressure indicator light should light up, flash or only go out after a long period of driving.
If the defective pump is not replaced, the oil supply to the engine is inadequate. This is very likely to lead to major engine damage.
In 1909, the Pierburg brothers founded Pierburg GmbH in Berlin, which has been producing carburetors ever since. In 1986, the Düsseldorf-based Rheinmetall Group took over the company and began building up the Automotive Technology division. In 1998, Pierburg merged with Kolbenschmidt AG, also acquired by Rheinmetall, to form Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG. As a result, Rheinmetall AG is very well positioned "all around the engine". Within the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group, Pierburg is regarded as an expert in the fields of emission control, air supply and throttle valves.
