Tank vent valve for PORSCHE 996 Boxster 986 shut-off valve
PIERBURG Original
Description: Unburned fuel vapors are collected in the activated carbon canister and then fed to the engine through the tank ventilation. A defective activated carbon canister often leads to poor engine running and escaping fuel vapors.
Depending on the equipment (ORVR), the shut-off valve can be installed in two different places. On the one hand, the valve is located in the activated carbon tank; alternatively, in the 996 turbo, for example, it is installed in the valve housing of the tank ventilation system. The 996 turbo has another valve installed, which you can also find in our store. If you are unsure, you can check the OE part number from Porsche. This is printed in white on your original part. It is visible after removing the shut-off valve.
In 1909, the Pierburg brothers founded Pierburg GmbH in Berlin, which has been producing carburetors ever since. In 1986, the Düsseldorf-based Rheinmetall Group took over the company and began building up the Automotive Technology division. In 1998, Pierburg merged with Kolbenschmidt AG, also acquired by Rheinmetall, to form Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG. As a result, Rheinmetall AG is very well positioned "all around the engine". Within the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group, Pierburg is regarded as an expert in the fields of emission control, air supply and throttle valves.
