Bearing intermediate shift lever for PORSCHE 924 944 968 transmission reversing mechanism

Description:
The intermediate shift levers connect the transmission input shafts with the shift linkage. The lever is deflected by this plastic bearing and is worn out on almost all vehicles. This results in excessive play in the gearshift linkage on the Porsche 924, 944 and 968. You can eliminate the sticky feeling of the worn gearshift with this.
The bearing fits all Porsche four-cylinder transaxles, whether 924S or 944S2/turbo.
Unlike previous alternatives, this polyoxymethylene plastic bearing has the exact geometry of the original. This is the only way to eliminate the gearshift play without impairing the smooth operation of the lever. Barely visible to the naked eye, there is an angle of 88° between the two bores. As a result, the plastic bearing compensates for its slightly off-center position next to the gearbox and the large bore runs exactly towards the gearshift. However, this makes production considerably more complex.
We have now reissued the plain bearing in a small series and supply you with the necessary mounting material at the same time.
To mount the bearing, it is sufficient to jack up the rear of the vehicle slightly and remove the left rear wheel.
Together with a new shift lever (item number #3127 in the webshop), you can completely eliminate the play in the shift linkage and have a sporty, direct feel in the shift lever again.
