Description:
Oil lines are inconspicuous components, but they can cause major damage if they are defective. They connect the engine, oil cooler or timing chain tensioner for years without appearing.
In the event of a crack/breakage, large quantities of oil leak out (possibly the entire contents of the oil tank) and the component is no longer reliably supplied with engine oil.
It is therefore advisable to replace the oil hoses or lines if they are obviously ageing before damage can occur.
In full restorations, all oil lines are usually replaced.
