Description:
In the VDO instruments, the mileage (not the speedometer) is understood over 2 levels, i.e. h. Each drive consists of 3 gears: E1, E2 and E3.

- The driving gear E1 Is identical to everyone and has 12 teeth.
- The gear E2 (Double tooth wheel) is also identical for everyone, flat on the back (no collar) and has 48x12 teeth.
- The gear E3 (Double tooth wheel) has a collar on the back and exists in 9 variants with different numbers of teeth.

The exchange of all 3 gears is recommended for a repair:
After the expansion, please count the teeth of the E3 gear and order the corresponding variant in the shop. We have only set separate set offers for well-known assignments (vehicle model for gear variant).

Our gears are made of high -quality thermoplastic plastic injections: This enables very good dimensions and an evolvent form of the teeth, which run particularly gentle on the partner gear.
We have all the gears for VDO and other instrument manufacturers in the program and can therefore also deliver afterwards or exchange incorrectly ordered gear bikes.

Notes:
The purchase of a used speedometer may save the repair, but the risk that the gear will break promptly here too. In particular, storage times and cold temperatures damage the gears.
If you have disassembled the speedometer, the exchange of the light bulbs is also recommended. Over the years, these noticeably lose performance. You are available from every car dealership and accessories business.

If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grab the speedometer needle in the middle and turn clockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything the needle keeps on the wave.
