Description:
Worn brake pads often lead to a reduction in braking performance and a significantly longer braking distance. It is therefore advisable to replace brake pads that are less than 2mm thick on each axle. In addition, brake systems with warning contacts should also be replaced as soon as they are triggered.
Brake pad guide plates ensure defined positioning and noise decoupling of the brake pads. Contamination and corrosion are the most common causes of guide plate faults. The guide plates should therefore be inspected every time the brake pads are replaced. A damaged guide plate causes the brake pads to jam, which increases brake pad wear.
