Technical data

The Porsche 996 was produced from 1997 to 2006 and was the first model of the 911 series with a water-cooled engine. Just like its predecessor, the Porsche 993, the car was designed by Harm Lagaay. However, they differ fundamentally in body shape and interior.

Motor and prices

With regard to compliance with fuel consumption and emission regulations in combination with targeted engine performance, Porsche switched to a six-cylinder boxer engine with water cooling. Especially the extra equipment like leather, aluminium or carbon look caused a sensation. High comfort and suitability for everyday use were the focus of attention in the Porsche 996 thanks to technical features such as ESP, built-in navigation system and automatic air conditioning.
