Description:
The joints on track rods are subject to wear, which usually starts with a torn boot. Once the grease has been washed out of the axial joint or tie rod end, the ball joint fails within a few thousand kilometers. The defective rubber sleeves or rod ends will be rejected by the TÜV at the latest. Because changing the track rod always requires a new wheel alignment with toe-in adjustment, we recommend replacing the entire track rod depending on its condition. We offer a wide range of tie rod ends, axial joints and complete tie rods with the correct steering boots.

These axial joints are an optimized construction in "turbo design". This is characterized by the play-free ball joint. True to the original, the Carrera models on the 911 G model and 964 had a joint fork with a rubber bushing. Although this provides more comfort, it is less direct in its steering behavior. The 930 turbo and the later 993 Carrera/turbo models have a play-free axial joint as standard.
