Description:
This set of 24 stud bolts is for professional fastening of the cylinder head to the cylinders.
The studs are the reinforced "DILAVAR" version.
From 1974, Porsche only used aluminum cylinders. As aluminum has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion, the stud bolts were permanently exposed to high elongation. The high load meant that the threads of the bolts were often torn out or they failed completely and broke. From the Carrera 3.2 onwards, reinforced Dilava bolts were installed in the engines, which solved the problem. We recommend replacing the stud bolts with the Dilava bolts during an engine overhaul to increase the longevity of your engine.
In addition to the stud bolts, we also supply the washers and cylinder head nuts for air-cooled Porsches.
