Description:
The oil pump is one of the most important components in the engine. It ensures sufficient oil pressure so that the engine is supplied with enough lubricant and the lubricating film does not break off.
Dry sump lubrication, which is common in racing, is particularly dependent on the oil pump being in good condition.
During an engine overhaul, the oil pump should therefore always be checked and replaced if necessary.

In 1909, the Pierburg brothers founded Pierburg GmbH in Berlin, which has been producing carburetors ever since. In 1986, the Düsseldorf-based Rheinmetall Group took over the company and began building up the Automotive Technology division.
