Description:
The brake booster is required to amplify the braking force from the brake pedal. As disc brakes do not have the self-amplification of drum brakes, the brake booster is essential to ensure the necessary braking power. A defective brake booster can be recognized when the engine is running by a brake pedal that is difficult to operate and by slight hissing noises behind the brake pedal.
