Porsche 997 spare parts

Technical data

The 997 model of the Porsche 911 was first introduced in 2004 as the successor to the 996. With over 200,000 models sold, the 997 is the most successful 911 of all time. Although the 996 was already much more modern, the 997 ushered in a design language still used for the 911 today, without forgetting its history. Also new was the optional PDK dual-clutch transmission, as well as Porsche active suspension management, also known as PASM. This was standard on the S version and was offered as an option on the base 911. In addition, the Porsche Communication Management Screen (PCM) became standard on all models.

Engine and prices

Two water-cooled engines were fitted at launch: The Carrera 3.6 with 325 hp and a top speed of 285 km/h and the Carrera 3.8 S with 355 hp and a top speed of 293 km/h. In 2004, the Carrera 4 and a Targa were released, which had a higher track width by 44mm due to the all-wheel drive. The Cabriolet versions offered an electrically retractable roof. The Targa models had a retractable panoramic glass roof, offering a mix of coupe and convertible. The Turbo was added to the 997 lineup with a twin turbocharged 3.6 Mezger engine. In 2007, the 997 GT3 was added with a naturally aspirated engine and offered a package that was equipped for the track and offered 415 horsepower. The GT3 RS had the same power but weighed 20 kg less. For the second generation starting in 2009, the engine changed from intake manifold injection to direct fuel injection (DFI). Thus, power increased to 355 hp and 385 hp for the 3.6 and 3.8 engines. The turbo received 500 hp. There were also some minor design changes to the body and wheels, as well as LED front and rear lights.
